Financial Support for Coronavirus Hit Businesses

These are unprecedented and worrying times. I hope you and your families are all well.

We continue to work on all our services from the office because all our files and computers are here and we communicate by email and phone.

We are not making any meeting arrangements for the foreseeable future, but clients can still call to drop in their records, etc, and of course call us or email about any matter.

Meanwhile, you will have seen the measures announced in the last two days. It’s all moving fast and details are sketchy and processes are not clear- and these may not be of benefit or relevance to you - but the gist for you and anyone you know is;

  1. Three months Nil business rates holiday in NI.
  2. Possible Grant up to £10,000 towards costs and business rates – unclear yet who this will be available to.
  3. Very important – interest free loans. I attach a link below to it
  4. Tax payment extension, maybe VAT, PAYE. It is a case by case basis, but it’s useful to know for your own business or if you know anyone with financial difficulties. The HMRC number to call is 0800 0159 559

For an employer, recovery of two weeks of SSP is now available for up to two weeks for employees absent as a result of Covid19.

As I understand it, if someone self isolates and ceases to work, you pay them SSP and you claim it back using the manual method.

The items here may or may not be relevant to you, but please do let me know if I can be of help in any way.
